Students selected topics, researched, created a project, and shared with the class either in a small or large group. Topics ranged from the history of theater to drawing faces to snowboards to blimps! Hopefully, students will continue their research and discovery of self-chosen topics over the summer, and hopefully, they will find creative ways to express their learning.

Today's events...coach bus ride (with movie), breakfast, low ropes course, zip lining, canoeing, lunch, tube slides/trading post, and archery, bus ride home (with movie)...so fun! The best part of the day was the positive, friendly way everyone interacted with each other all day long. Thank you to Mr. Jansen, Mrs. Kerpec, Mrs. Fischer, and Mrs. Spiczka for spending the day with us! OMS fifth graders learned about tree care, climbing, trimming, planting, and more from Arlington Heights Public Works employees. Students also learned safety reasons for avoiding wasp nexts and for calling Julie before digging into the ground. Hopefully, your family can find a place to plant the tree/bush your child brought home. |
