The Bio-Bottle Project has become a tradition for many OMS students through the years. A former student in the above photo learned and shared about Amelia Earhart. I hope you child is excited to learn about the person they have chosen to study. I also hope this is a project that will allow your child to grow in many ways... knowledge, note-taking, summarizing, public speaking, and in creating something they can be proud of!

It's a special time when students share their writing in our classroom. After sharing, the class claps, then many students quickly raise their hands to share specific, positive feedback. After hearing the creative ways their classmates express themselves, students experiment with new writing techniques and take risks when writing next time. Today's fifth grade egg drop activity activated some creative thinking as students worked in small groups to plan, build, predict, and test contraptions that could protect an egg from a big fall. Five students from our class devised successful contraptions. Congratulations to Peter, Matthew, Noah, Rob, and Dominic. |
