Why do you think it was important to learn about the human body?
-to understand it and how to take care of it
-to help us understand what a doctor does
-you can use the information later in life for jobs such as an EMT
-in case you become a doctor or surgeon
-so you know what is inside of you
-so now we know what to do to stay healthy
-so we can treat our body better and respect it
-so if something happen like you faint, you know why
What are some things you learned in this unit that you will carry through in your own life?
-how you breathe and how your muscles work
-to eat calcium because it makes your bones strong
-that eating healthy and exercising are a big part for your body to stay healthy
-I will know how to take my pulse and find out my heart-rate while exercising
-Now that I know how good working out is for me, I will probably try to work out more
-not to smoke and to stay healthy
-I learned about muscle fatigue, and it will help me so I know how to not get it
-how your organ systems work
-how your bones get strong by milk. I will keep eating and drinking milk products to stay strong
-now I know it’s important to drink water and milk
-I will eat more vegetables
-I will stretch before physical activities

-why your face gets red when you exercise
-how does an elbow move… by joints and ligaments
-how blood gives you nutrients so now I can say it comes from the food you eat
-how you do involuntary responses and reflexes
-how fast a message traveled from your brain to the muscle…268 miles per hour
-how your pupil gets bigger and smaller
-why smoking is bad for you
-why you have hair and how it grows
-why you get the wind knocked out of you
-where I can find my pulse and how to tell how many times my heart beats per minute
-how my heart pumps
-what cells are
-where saliva comes from
-why hair turns gray
-how your brain stores thoughts
-how your muscles work
-if blood is red or blue…it’s red
-that ligaments and tendons are different things
-that the heart is a muscle
What was your favorite part about this unit and why?
-the experiment with the straws because it was challenging
-when we turned off the light, and we saw our pupils get bigger and smaller
-I liked the muscle fatigue the most because I thought it was interesting to see how fast your muscles got tired
-learning about the different systems because it explains every part of the human body
-when we made the limb models because I like to build stuff out of special supplies and test it out like the egg drop
-the bone activity because we got to touch the animal bone and try to get the marrow out of the middle
-examining the bone because I could see what was inside of my bone looks like
-catching the ruler to see how long it took for me to react
-learning about the nervous system because it is interesting how your brain sends messages
