Today was not a typical day at school. The warmer temperatures and sunshine prompted three experiments that brought us outside four times throughout the day. We were equipped with science packets, clipboards, chalk, and measuring tape. We traced shadows, measured their heights, observed patterns, and graphed results. We discussed what caused these patterns. We also sketched the landscape beyond the playground facing south and tracked the apparent movement of the sun through the sky. We also measured with our fists how high off of the horizon the sun rose in the sky. We also graphed these results. This week we will synthesize how this data fits together.
