Indoor recess can actually be a lot of fun. Some of the girls in our class tested how high they could get this base ten block tower to go. It rose one or two more levels before crashing, but caught the whole class' attention at this point. Steady hands and patient building!
Each fifth grade class enjoyed a day of exploration of a chest filled with clothing and accessories from Revolutionary times. These replicas are valued at $1,500 and helped our students to imagine what a soldier would be wearing and carrying each and every day. In our class, names were drawn, and pieces were chosen from the chest and then discussed. Charlie's name was pulled last, and he agreed to try on several of the pieces of the uniform all at once!
