These are just a few of the many AH businesses who welcomed our fifth graders for the morning. We are so grateful that they offered this experience and grateful to all of the parents who helped plan the trip and who chaperoned!
The principals and student tour guides helped our fifth graders to see what next year will be like in middle school. Great things ahead! What sweet treat is made of a solid, a liquid, and a gas? It foams and tastes so good. Most everyone drank and enjoyed it. It was a fun way to finish up our Matter unit! Partners and small groups worked together to design and implement matter experiments focusing on ten key concepts. It was a little messy, but exciting, cooperative, and creative. After recording observations and drawing conclustions, students wrote a constructed response and then shared their finding with the class.
From choosing a biography to reading, researching, summarizing, and speech-delivering, 5-1 students have shown extraordinary effort and creativity! Well done! Miss Pucci led the OMS fifth graders in a wonderful band concert performing Needle in a Haystack and Flight of the Banshee. Next, Miss Horton led the TMS Wind Ensemble in Them Basses and Songs of Old Kentucky. Bravo, all band students! Keep up the great music!
What a fun day to be creative, social, and silly! Hopefully, this was good practice for taking a break from technology and other things with friends!
